PRIVACY POLICY

The Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) values the privacy of its members, visitors to this web site, and others who it serves. This document details how we gather and disseminate user information. Please contact us if you have any questions about our privacy policy.

Use of Internet Protocol Address

We use your internet protocol (IP) address for several reasons: to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our web site, and to gather broad demographic information.

Use of Membership Information

ABCT only uses the information collected on the ABCT web site and through paper forms for specified purposes.

We collect information such as contact (i.e. name and e-mail address), demographic (i.e. ZIP code and gender), professional (degrees; areas of specialty; percentage time spent in clinic, research, etc.), and order information (membership category; conference registration; CE offerings; directory participation). The contact information you provide is used to send orders, register for the convention, register for webinars, list among selected directories, and allow access to member benefits (access to webinars, access to directories, purchases at discounts) and for our historical, aggregate information. We rent member's mailing addresses to third-party companies, however we do not divulge any other information (i.e. a user's e-mail address, telephone number, or birth date) to outside companies.

Your financial information is used solely for products and services you have ordered. Checks are deposited and a paper copy stored for seven years; credit card information supplied by paper is entered by us into the online payment account and transmitted directly through encrypted software to the merchant and the original copy is stored for three years; credit cards used by the purchaser are transmitted directly through encrypted software to the merchant. In all cases it is used only for completing the specific transaction for which the check or credit card information was supplied. For reconciliation purposes, ABCT can view purchases identified solely by the final four digits of the credit card. ABCT does not collect or save credit card information, except as described above.

Security

ABCT features modern security measures including TLS 1.2 covering email correspondence and SSL encryption for transmissions of data containing any financial information outside email.

This site uses cookies to enhance the visitor's experience. A cookie is a small text file that our web server places on a user's hard drive to be a unique identifier. Our cookies do not collect personally identifiable information.
